Impacto y Contribuciones de la Economía Circular a los Modelos de Negocio: Una Revisión Sistemática y un Análisis Bibliométrico

El presente artículo analiza el impacto y los aportes de la economía circular (EC) en los modelos de negocio empresariales mediante una revisión sistemática de la literatura y análisis bibliométrico, teniendo como pregunta central ¿Cómo impacta la economía circular el modelo de negocios de las empresas? Así, el objetivo principal consistió en determinar el impacto de la economía circular en el modelo de negocios de las empresas, a la luz de la literatura científica existente. Metodológicamente, se aplicó lo establecido en el protocolo PRISMA. Se llevó a cabo la revisión de 226 documentos indexados en la base de referencias bibliográficas Scopus, de los cuales se seleccionaron 101 documentos que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y calidad. Los resultados muestran que la economía circular promueve la sostenibilidad empresarial, la innovación tecnológica y la reducción de impactos ambientales, además de fortalecer la gestión y rentabilidad organizacional. Asimismo, fomenta la comprensión y aplicación de estrategias circulares, transformando estructuras y operaciones de negocio. De esta manera, se pudo concluir que la EC constituye un paradigma clave para el desarrollo sostenible, capaz de generar valor económico, social y ambiental, impulsando la transición hacia modelos de producción más responsables.
