Análisis del Rendimiento Termoenergético de Viviendas en México Mediante la Incorporación de Materiales Aislantes

Resumen

El sector de la edificación constituye uno de los principales consumidores de energía a nivel mundial y es responsable de una proporción significativa de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero. Esta problemática se intensifica debido al uso generalizado de materiales constructivos con bajo desempeño térmico, como el bloque de concreto y las láminas metálicas, que en muchos casos se instalan sin ningún tipo de aislamiento. Esta situación genera un aumento en la demanda de energía para la climatización de los espacios interiores, afectando tanto la eficiencia energética como el confort térmico de los habitantes, especialmente en viviendas sociales donde los recursos para mejoras constructivas son limitados. El presente estudio se centra en evaluar la efectividad de diferentes estrategias pasivas de aislamiento térmico aplicables a viviendas de interés social, con el objetivo de reducir la transferencia de calor y mejorar las condiciones de habitabilidad. Para ello, se construyeron prototipos a escala de muros y cubiertas, sometiéndolos a pruebas de carga térmica controlada que simulan condiciones de calor extremo. Se compararon distintos materiales de aislamiento, incluyendo Poliestireno Expandido (EPS), fibra de vidrio y espuma de poliuretano, frente a una lámina galvanizada sin aislamiento, que representa la práctica constructiva común en muchas zonas del país. Durante las pruebas se monitorearon parámetros clave como la temperatura superficial y el tiempo de retardo en la transferencia de calor, lo que permitió establecer comparaciones precisas entre los diferentes materiales. Los resultados indicaron que la espuma de poliuretano proporciona el mayor rendimiento térmico, lo cual se atribuye a su baja conductividad térmica, que varía entre 0.032 y 0.040 W/m·K. Este comportamiento superior permite disminuir de manera significativa el flujo de calor hacia el interior de la vivienda, mejorando el confort térmico sin necesidad de sistemas activos de climatización.
